I can't speak for the younger people, but in the 50+ , over half of the women are escorts or overseas. The app allows chosing a geographic location and hideing actual location. Also allows hiding the posters age.

You can turn on and off posting at will. Seems the surge in escort posting starts about 10PM local time friday nights?.

I always thought Tinder was more a hook up app than a dating app. Tried it once, was not impressed by the contacts I chatted with. The best thing I heard about Tinder was an acquaintance who called it her Free Dinner app.
I did have good results with OK Cupid for dating. Found me three very good and compatable women using that. Led to two long term and one a few months long relationships.

Why can't those escorts leave regular hookup looking people alone?

I also learned something new to me, the " Bathroom Selfie " The poster will take a selfie in the mirror of themself in a snazzy restaurant or hotel restroom to post on the app. Usually reasonably clothed, sometimes not :ermm: .

I matched with Sharon Stone on Bumble then the company shutdown her account, they thought it was fake. Now I don't have a date for new year's eve

You're better off. She was going to order the rabbit for dinner

You've confused her with another blonde actress in a movie 30+ years ago...this is what poor Sharon has to put up with.

Sharon has to deal with my poor memory? I apologize Sharon. Is Glen Close on Tinder?

No reason to fear the rabbit, as pointed out, that was another actress. With Sharon Stone, it's far worse - Komodo Dragons! She set this tour up as a gift.

Bronstein was recovering from a bizarre incident during which a Komodo dragon chomped on his foot Saturday when the editor was on a private tour of the Los Angeles Zoo with his wife, actress Sharon Stone.

Been on 4 different dating apps for 2 mo now. One of the " interesting " things I have come across more than once : married people I know who are NOT separated. Including a former neighbor who swiped right on me. She had put on a little weight , but when I realized who it was, I un matched. Not going down that road.

I have done a bit of Tinder dating up to my age (was 49 when last on it). I had my share of webcam women and sugar daddy seeking women matching with me. I reported all the commercial profiles as that is not the correct use of the platform. Seemed to get less matches from them over time. I declined the sugar baby options in favour of building my own wealth haha. Had a few matching from overseas. I guess they are looking to upgrade countries, or to try a scam - declined those. However, I did meet some really nice women through Tinder, but the whole process is time consuming, as it is hit and miss.

The ppl who lie about their age and use old photos is especially time wasting. I just can’t take someone seriously if they have lied about their age. What else have they or will they lie about? Old photos - another type of deception.

IMHO, of course, but most profile pics seem to have been taken ten years and twenty pounds ago...

Known as ' Catfishing " and " Dogfishing ". Both women and men do it.

They do it because the perception is that everybody else does it. And that once you meet them and realize what a nice person they are, you won't mind as much.

I'm curious - what do you do when you meet the person and they're awful, compared with their photo? Do you tell them off about it, or do you pretend nothing's wrong and then ghost them after the meeting?

I don't know if they think everyone else does it, but I have had several women lie about their age on their profiles and I only found out after meeting them and it was clear that they thought once they got to meet me they could convince me what a catch they were and I would look past their lie...they were wrong. I cannot accept someone blatantly lying about their age no matter what their justification. And what else did they lie about...I don't want to find out. And no, everyone does not do it.

One woman put this in her profile : If you don't look like your photo when we meet , then you will be buying me drinks until you do ".

With one when we got off the online chat and started texting, she asked for a selfie right now. Although it would be easy for me to fake, she was satisfied with it. We ended up not meeting, we live at extreme opposite ends of the county, 2
+ hour drive in traffic.

The search for love continues.......

I was on Match..dot....com 20 years ago and lying and using old photos was common even then. If someone lied or misrepresented themselves, I dropped them promptly as I saw no good reason to waste time on someone that was not a match - let the liars date each other.

Between 40 and 50% of those on dating apps are married, both genders.

That % may be true of registered users, but a lot are not active users and many are just window shopping.

OK Cupid asks for marital status in setting up profile. You can leave it blank, but that would be a red flag for me.

I was on bumble one night at the club bar. An " aquentance " next to me saw someone's profile I was looking at, it said " amicably separated " whatever the hell that means. My aquentance knows the person and told me " ya she does look hot in person , but the situation is a real trainwreck , stay away from that " lol

Online meeting sites taught me that there is a great abundance of fine single women out there.
