"The U.S. central bank must end its bond-buying program quickly and an end to the program was "in sight", a senior Federal Reserve official said in a German magazine on Saturday."

This official is Jeffrey Lacker, president of Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond.

I'm starting to wonder if all this contradictory chatter from the Fed is going to create a situation where when the program does finally end, it is anticlimactic and so ho-hum?

It is a pretty common rhetorical tactic in today's politics for an opponent to simply keep restating their own opinion as fact in a hope to drive things in their own direction through sheer force of will.
