I have 100% of my reoccuring monthly bills (phone, CC, water, electric etc) paid automatically. I've done this for 10-15 years and never had a problem. BTW, you will give up none of the options that you are concerned about ( you can still go down and complain etc) but your payment will always be paid on the very last day possible.
