Not FIRE related but asking here as there are some helpful people.
So, dear wife has decided we are moving to a lake house in South Carolina as our primary residence in 18 months or so. How do I find stats on weather damage and potential flood insurance rates? I've found average temps but not storm damage.
Should I simply Google insurance brokers in the area? The skeptic in me says they will quote a lowball policy with crappy coverage or oversell what I don't need.
Most likely I'm opening multiple cans of worms....
