Just want to add, always do a clean install from the Microsoft ISO for a new drive. You are asking for trouble if you clone from different hardware. If your copy is activated it will auto activate.

Not really true. People who want to upgrade their system just need to clone correctly, using proper tools/program.

I've done it, never a problem.

I cloned the HDD's in both of our Dell computers to SSD. No problems with the supplied software. YMMV.

I did this with SATA carrier USB 3 attached to the system. Swapped drives and boot first time.

Me too. I put 2tb in my Lenovo X1 and 4tb in my P71 Xeon. No hitches with either. The Enclosure is a little slow but does the job.
