House renting vs buying

Just edited my post, all house purchases are cash, I'm outside the US.

That's doesn't necessarily prevent what I'm bringing up. Find a brokerage that offers low margin loan rates that operates in your country. Move your portfolio there, take out a loan where your portfolio is the collateral. Use the proceeds to buy the home with cash.

I can't go into all of the details, I'd just suggest using google to start the education process. It might not be for you, hard to say.

(my apologies if you already understand what margin loans are, I'm assuming the topic is new to you)

I have been renting our home in Canada for 25 years. It is a penthouse built on Indian land with a 99 year fixed lease price. Plus it is subject to rent control.

For us it makes sense. We get 3300 sq.ft. instead of 1100 for the same money.

But in Mexico we bought 14 years ago because the economics are different. We are in our second condo.

So I doubt we can give you any advice without knowing the specific country. It is clear that traditional buy/rent calculators do not work in your situation.
