And good question.  When I started reading this board it was something of a shock to me to learn that most of the people who have actually early retired seem to have done it in their 50's.  Since my introduction to RE sites was John Greany's REHP site, I somehow assumed everyone was doing it around his age (35 or so IIRC).  It was a disappointment to learn the Greany was one of the youngest to retire.
