I’m 60 on an aca high deductible plan ($7k)
My daughter is 20, disabled and recently went on medicare.
I’m assuming that I can no longer contribute to my HSA at a “family” level since she is not on the aca high deductible plan anymore? Does anyone know for sure?

Glory be the medicare is incredible what a life saver.

If it used to be you and her, and now it is only you, then starting with the first month she was not on your plan you are limited to the single HSA monthly limit.

Well shoot I guess I missed my window then. Thanks for the info!

Not necessarily. The HSA contribution limit for the year is calculated by adding all the monthly contribution limits, but the contribution itself may be made at any time during the year, or up to April 15 of the next year. See the Form 8889 Line 3 Limitation Chart and Worksheet for more.

Oh interesting. She began medicare in Feb tho so I don't think I'll mess with it and will just continue with my solo over 55 contribution. Thanks!
