Hi all:

I'm new here. My wife (51) and I (52) planned to RE in 3 years but she was recently diagnosed with cancer (DES daughters). She is also losing her job and health insurance because her company moved to Mexico. The health insurance is now a big problem with us since it's going to be expensive for us to get HI due to her pre-existing condition. I know she can use COBRA or get on mine group insurance but what will we do if I also stop working in 2 years??

I wish we have UHC now. Any advice is appreciated.

Sorry to hear about your wife's condition, and hope she does great.

Look here for starters. Your predicament is widespread, and you can't wait for UHC, unfortunately, so working longer that you'd otherwise like might be your fall-back plan. I wish we had UHC, too.
