Gone but not forgotten
Great photos !
We didn't use the porta potties. The ones toward the Capitol were not open yet. There didn't seem to be long lines at the ones down by the concert. I'm not drinking any coffee tomorrow -- no way I am loosing a spot to go to the John.
Careful now...Depends on how badly you need to go.I'm not drinking any coffee tomorrow -- no way I am loosing a spot to go to the John.
Chips, huh. Sounds like a good breakfast.Something very salty like potato chips or corn chips will help, as well as not drinking anything at all after dinner tonight. Take it from someone who was often the only female oceanographer, on day trips taken on various vessels too small to have a head.
It's going to be pretty cold. Maybe I should wear a wetsuit under my clothes -- I have self warmed my wet suit once or twice.Careful now...Depends on how badly you need to go.
So, here's the deal. I got a couple of tickets for up front right behind the seats. So, naturally, I have to give one to DW and one to Sharon (visiting from Maui). David (Sharon's DH) and I get to work out what we can with the 'real people." So DW better come up with good photos. Dave and I will give you a more plebian perspective. Here they are, but not for me:
Don't be a grump. It's a big day for the whole country.I do think this inauguration is a bit overdone, I don't remember this level or pomp and cimcumstance in American history. Seems a bit like the Emmys or Golden Globes to me. While I do appreciated the historical significance one would think we are coronating a king. Even electing a new pope pales in comparison.........
I have to admit, I considered printing a couple of copies on matte photo paper. But the originals are two sided and embossed - so no go. Besides, cheating on such a positive occasion would be truly venal.hmm...I just printed that pic out and it looks pretty good. Hey buddy, wanna buy a ticket?

Just wait until he walks across the Reflecting Pool.

Apparently, it was Chief Justice John Roberts who erred. That put Obama in a tough spot, he clearly knew which was correct, but then you end up pointing out the other's mistake.
Hey, nice to see noone practices reciting the Oath of Office......
Yes! That hat will have a prominent place in the apolitical history of inauguration attire, "from JFK's no hat to Aretha."Aretha Franklin singing " My Country Tis of Thee " brought tears to my eyes . Plus her hat was fabulous .
