Thinks s/he gets paid by the post
So this is a new provider that just started selling health insurance on the exchange here in GA, and they've recently opened new clinics. The interesting thing about their offer is that all visits to their clinics are no extra cost, but I don't know exactly what that means; i.e. is it just primary care stuff or are they like Kaiser with a bunch of affiliated docs.
They offer 3 levels of coverage with all plans - free care with their clinic docs, a very comprehensive network in our area including all of the local docs and hospitals for the usual in-network deductibles and out of pocket max, and the usual no-ceiling on costs for out of network coverage (you pay 20% of OON cost after deductible is met). And they're the second cheapest on the Bronze and Silver tiers. I'm not going to risk it for the spouse and I (we're with Humana now on their national access PPO plan) for at least the first year so we can see how Harken shakes out, but was thinking about recommending it to my son when he signs up for 2016 on the exchange because all he will likely need (if anything) is a clinic visit for flu or whatever minor stuff he gets.
