I was cleaning out my desk before leaving my first real job (I had been there 16 years which was a long time at that company). I really liked working there but after the founder died they brought in "professional management", so the last few years were sad and painful. I decided to leave my files because I had no need of them and figured someone might get desperate looking for explanations of why things were f'd up they way they were. I had always kept a folder labeled "GOOD THINGS" where I put any kudos or notable things I did. Anyway I decided I wanted to take that stuff with me so I replaced everything with a single sheet of paper that said "What the hell are you looking in here for?". About a year after I left, they were going through my crap and found it. A guy I worked with called me to express his gratitude for one last laugh. They went belly up shortly afterward.
