My uric acid levels were reduced with a supplement

The podcast with Dr. Peter Attia (Attia podcast #194 – How fructose drives metabolic disease | Rick Johnson, M.D.

Robert Lustig has been on the hunt for sugar related problems for at least a decade now. For those who have not seen it, his viral video is quite alarming. Especially for people like me who enjoy my sweets.

I watched this video and have cut back my sugar content quite a bit. Results were a loss of 10-12 pounds over a few months without having to give up anything else or counting calories. My results, YMMV.

Many of us agree that sugar is essentially a poison, but it's important to remember that we're all different in how our metabolisms work.

I read a most interesting study a while ago that pointed out that there are a couple thousand Greenlanders who have a unique mutation that makes sugar actually healthy for them.

Two copies of a gene variant make it so that they absorb sugar differently than other people do.

Adult Greenlanders with the genetic variation have lower BMI, weight, fat percentage, cholesterol levels and are generally significantly healthier. They have less belly fat and might find it easier to get a six pack. It is amazing and surprising that a genetic variation has such a profoundly beneficial effect...
