Thought I'd come here first to ask this esteemed group.

DW and her GF are going for a girls weekend in October to Nashville.

They were looking at the Gaylord Opryland but it seems a bit out of the way from everything and they're thinking of somewhere downtown that would be close to attractions, fun and safe, preferably someplace they can walk to different bars and restaurants without being hassled.

Not looking for the cheapest place or any bargains.

Any ideas from our experts?

Four of us stayed at the Loews Vanderbilt last December and loved it. It’s not exactly downtown, maybe a 20 minute walk, but the hotel had a free shuttle that will take you there, or a cheap lyft ride. Really nice hotel, and was pretty reasonable compared to downtown. And yes, Opryland is an island unto itself, a long way from broadway!

Thanks, I'll check it out.

You gotta try Mikes ice cream. Was there for a Conference recently. Sheraton downtown - not worth the price. But that ice cream shop was probably best I ever had.
