This guy really sums it up in a way I can understand and that the average ERR poster or visitor is going to like.

Consider this my Happy Holiday gift to our community, (at least those who aren't ignoring me).

Theo Spark: Fred Thompson explains bailouts

I actually owe this one to Mish.

His final thought about the problem being put off until I die and then the economy collapses is what I'm hoping for.

My favorite summary phrase:

Ask not what your country can spend for you,
Ask what you can spend for your country.

-- Rita

I hate to be the lone voice of dissent but I must oppose Thompson on one of his points.

That's not how you pronounce "while." Never emphasize the H. This madness must end!

Scary, makes me wonder if I shouldn't just take the 10% penalty & tax bite & cash my tax-deferred pile of $ in for hard assets before they are worthless.

i detect a note of sarcasm.

Gee, ya think?

That's Saturday Night Live stuff for sure....

I'm only sorry old Fred didn't make it further along in the
Presidential campaign....especially if he had shown that
sense of humor :2funny:

Agreed. It would have been a much more interesting race if he'd stayed in longer. Still, he got in late and never had the money to make a real go of it. Plus, he just might not have enough flash and chrome for today's voter. We get what we deserve . . .

we can all show up at REWahoo's DSCC and shovel to our hearts' content.
i wanna to be a sh**hole filler. i think i'd be really good at that. :D
