Replacing Lockset on Double Front Doors

The house here has double front doors. On one side is the actual lock and handle. The other side has a matching "dummy" handle that does not operate. After 32 plus years, the operating mechanism is worn out and the lock set needs to be replaced.

Until fairly recently, you could buy both handles in one package at Home Depot or Lowes. I looked yesterday, and could only find the operational handle set. No matching dummy set. I looked at the Kwik Set site, same problem.

Am I missing something? If not, what can I do to solve the problem?

WTH? I have to buy two locksets and then spend extra "converting" one? When a couple of years ago, a dummy lockset came in the package? Now THAT's inflation!

The Baldwin locksets are very premium items--and expensive.

Have you considered talking to a locksmith to see what they suggest?

At my last house, I had a large front door unit with sidelights. And all it took was some burglar's big foot to kick in my front door. If I had double front doors, I'd want the best hardware available to insure the same thing wouldn't happen. I replaced my door unit with a new fiberglass one that's much stronger.
