Whoa! Wait a minute here. I read the linked article and I think you may be misinterpreting his comments. Saturn and the other outer planets have orbits around the sun that are many years long. Also their orbits are not perfectly circular. That means that during some of those years these planets are closer to the sun than they are at other times. To me he seemed to be saying that the observed warming on those worlds is due to the fact that they are presently closer to the sun than they were during previous periods of observation - not that they are closer to the sun than the earth. This implies a temporary condition caused by orbital mechanics which will revert when the orbits reach points further from the sun.
