Swallowtail butterflies

I'm calling this an UNLESS. ~47 days since last post, these suckers are hardy!
Here in SOMD its into 30's at night, they just keep eats parsley and growing bigger. pretty amazing, I'm sure these will winter over, so I'll again waste hours waiting for one to escape so I can follow it into next stage and give you guys a science show....

Wow! Conditions must be still livable for them.

As of a few weeks ago I was still seeing "woolly bear caterpillars". They transform into Tigar Moths. We have had freezing temps but great fall days above average. The Woolly Bear is another, that seem to hang around a long time into fall. I see then often through the years while out hunting.
 
Parsley plant doesn’t freeze at 32 degrees as far as I remember, so it will be interesting to see how long into winter this goes on.
