The Last Ride

I normally really like Mondays...it's the best day of the week IMHO. Well, not today.

I mentioned in another thread that one of our neighbors (actually the only one we really have socialized with) had a ruptured aneurysm a couple of weeks ago and actually made it to the hospital in time to repair it. He had made it home a few days later but sadly passed away last night. As the morning went on, a parade of vehicles came and went...the last of which was the funeral home's transport van. I had flashbacks of the same type of van that took my Mom and then a few years later my Dad, on their "final road trip." A not so kind reminder that our time here is finite and we not know when the van will come for us.
