Trying to make Portfolio changes

I am trying to make changes to our Portfolios & am looking for 'Portfolio Tester'
which was available at Vanguard.

I am at almost all at Fidelity & Schwab now.

If I do not find anything useful, I may end up entering all our accounts as OUTSIDE Accounts at Vanguard & use theirs.

Please let me know if you have a Portfolio Tester, where I can make potential investment changes & see the potential resulting Asset Allocation, etc...

Thanks

Firecalc lets you model your long term plan by selecting your percentage of equities/bonds (and type of bonds)... But it doesn't do individual stocks... assumes index funds.

Have you tried portfoliovisualizer.com? Actual fund performance as well as lots of different types of funds. It helped me simplify our holdings by realizing how close the results have been over time for lots of different funds we had.

I am thinking of - Dividend Equity ETFs, in exchange of the present Bond Funds,

Let me explain - I am 67, DW 62, both retired, have won the game on paper -

From Fidelity Retirement Plan - the Asset Allocation Stocks 68, Fixed Income 32 -

Domestic Stock 50 %
Foreign Stock 18 %
Bonds 25 %
Short-Term 4 %
Unknown 3 %

Leaving money to the kids when we pass -

Have only 5 Vanguard Mutual Funds & ETFs in total in a several million portfolio -

All IRAs have Vanguard Total Bond Index - BND
All Roth IRAs & HSAs have VTI
Taxable Accounts - Have VTI + VXUS + Vanguard Tax Exempt Bond VWIUX + Vanguard Short Term Bond Index VBIRX,

- I needed the Bonds in Taxable as there was no more space in Tax Deferred, to maintain the Bonds portion in Asset Allocation

I am getting sick of the bond side of our portfolio, BND debacle last year, the interest rates keep going up, Tax Exempt Bonds do not make sense in 24% Bracket we are in -

I am looking at VYM - Vanguard High Dividend Yield ETF in place of VWIUX & VBIRX

Yes, AA may turn more aggressive than 70/30

Sounds like a simple spreadsheet would work to figure out your asset allocation. What else are you looking for?

Check carefully before making changes in stocks - I think we’re in for more sideways action this year. Interest rates are significantly causing most REITs to drop. I don’t see REITs picking up until rates are lower.

You just have to be selective. REITs like LTC and VICI should hold their own with good dividends. A BDC like MAIN should also do well.

Fidelity’s Retirement Planner tool allows you to change allocations and see the “what if” results, Monte Carlo analysis.

Sounds like you have been successful over the years with your 5 fund from Vanguard. I wouldn't let one or two years change my mind over what has worked for decades. If you have won the game, bonds is one of the safer places to be. It didn't feel like it in this recent rate increase period, but that was a fluke and not the history of bonds. Sometimes, "Don't just do something, stand there" makes sense. Good luck on whatever you decide.
