I searched the forum and didn't find an discussion of this program. Does anyone have experience with this benefit? My 91 year old mother is a survivor and will, most likely, need assistance of the kind available through this program. Thanks in advance...

I successfully applied for and obtained a benefit for my mother that was used towards assisted living. My father fought through France and Germany until VE day and was eventually sent to the Philippines until VJ day.

It was a bit complicated to gather all the information required and fill out the forms, and took a really long time to be processed, like many months in limbo with no way of knowing what was going on. Make sure you fill out every single space in the application with something. Otherwise it will get kicked back and you will be looking at another couple of months delay. As I remember, we needed to reapply every year which was a pain in the keister. So keep copies of everything to make refilling out the forms easier.
