I don't think 17330YJ68 has settled yet. Are you saying you were not even able to place that order? It is still up on Schwab.

when i called in "before" it was on the website, i placed an order over the phone and it never was placed. I never got a call back that the order went through. I was paying their asking price. Today it appeared on the site and i believe i can put in a buy order, now.

I noticed there was not a buy tab for that issue. Looks like you will still need to call it in.

its there... they had a replication issue.. one of their servers had buy and the other was showing "call it in" with the phone icon. When you pay your India tech team $9/hr you get what you pay for.

Cash at Fidelity now earns 3.59% with FZDXX. This is more than double ultra short duration bond funds and there is no loss of capital with this money market fund.

i wonder how difficult it would be to move all of my funds to Fidelity. SWVXX is only 3.5%

Wow. Made me check my TSTXX. Was 2.97% last week or so. Is now 3.44%.

Why don't I feel happy about this? Double-digit rate on CD like 1980 soon?

What happens to Treasuries, I-bonds, and government agencies in the event Congress fails to raise the debt ceiling?

Well, generally the bond holders get the assets of the bond issuer. I'll take a small section of Yellowstone for my 2 year bonds.

They normally raise the debt ceiling with some backdoor deals. The concern should be the crypto bubble imploding and who has the greatest exposure.

Is anybody thinking about getting the GM 6.75% maturing in 2028?

Some not so great new issues:

Humana (BBB+) priced 10 year notes at 5.875%

https://finra-markets.morningstar.com/BondCenter/BondDetail.jsp?ticker=FHUM5500539

Oracle (BBB) priced 10 years notes at 6.25%

https://finra-markets.morningstar.com/BondCenter/BondDetail.jsp?ticker=FORCL5500544

and 30 year notes at 6.9%

https://finra-markets.morningstar.com/BondCenter/BondDetail.jsp?ticker=FORCL5500354

The three year notes priced at 5.8%

https://finra-markets.morningstar.com/BondCenter/BondDetail.jsp?ticker=FORCL5500543

I'll wait for the 3 year notes to drop below par and the YTM up over 6.5% before I buy it.

The big banks are doing their annual head chopping of their underperformers.

"The moves show the industry has returned to an annual ritual that’s been part of what has defined life on Wall Street: Cutting workers who are deemed to be underperformers. The practice, which had been on pause the last few years amid a boom in deals activity, returned after Goldman Sachs laid off hundreds of employees in September."

After what happened to GM bondholders during the financial crisis I don't blame you.

The GM bond fiasco should never be far from the thoughts of any corporate bond investor. You can and will be tossed to the wolves if the powers-that-be decide it’s best.

Yields are pulling back due to the latest inflation numbers. It's only one data point but more likely rates are beginning to peak. I locked in some 5 year CDs at 5% from Capital one (adding to some ultra-conservative investments) and placed many orders for more new issue high grade corporates from GS and Citigroup (anything over 6% coupons). 5 year callable high grade notes are now yielding 5.4%. The new issues were from US and Canadian banks were selling out fast and now are all gone. I still have a lot of dry powder for tax loss selling season.
