West Texas Travel ?

Interesting thread. This Californian had no idea Texas has 8000+ foot mountains! DW and I are planning on getting a truck camper in the next few years, and we’ll add West Texas and Big Bend National Park to our list of spots to hit.

TX is on my fly over state lists.

This was my first time to vacation in Texas. We were very impressed with the natural beauty of Big Bend National Park as well as the area around the McDonald Observatory. Marfa was definitely a small town and it was nice to be in a VRBO with our own food. The weather was nice and warm during the day, but very dry and dusty. Like 10% humidity dry.

We also made a stop at Fort Davis National Historic Site and found that to be interesting.
