I was in city manager’s office for first 16 years and quit for one reason: coworkers dragging me down.
Coworker that came in every morning angry and venting.
Coworker that did nothing useful but smoozed the boss.
Coworker that besmirched folks to anyone who listened.
I had to deal with all three on a daily basis and no matter how many great colleagues, they could suck the life out of anyone. It was hard to enjoy the others that did a great job.
So was wondering if others had differing experiences and what triggered their pulling the plug.
