56 and left the workforce

Just retired as of and Dec 1 and found this site. Worked 34 years in the oil industry and was offered severence to leave the company. Nice 401K, good company lump sum and bennies that include retirement medical.

FIrst 2 months were a little strange not getting up and going to work. May end up with a reirment job or not. Not in any hurry to make any decisions just yet.

Remember, a retirement job doesn't have to be a paying job. You can immerse yourself in something you love whether it pays or not. It will bring back the structure that the old job had but on your own terms.
