If you have a Google number, in addition to its already impressive list of magic features, there is now one more.

Once you activate the feature, if you are at your computer and gmail is running when a call comes in to your Google number a popup box allows you to take the call, or listen in during message recording, or hang up. You don't need to even have a telephone physically present -- it uses your computer and microphone to establish a VOIP connection (free). You can also make a call this way, with your google number appearing on the caller ID.

Handy when your cell phone is not with you, when traveling and without your laptop, provides a better quality connection than most cell phones, or when you just want the convenience.

I like it.

Sounds like a great new feature, thanks Rich.
I'll be checking it out on my Google Voice account.
