Looks like a pull through knife sharpener, mine has a longer wire handle and ceramic balls.

You need to place it next to a known object to give a sense of perspective. (Even dimensions would be beneficial.) I am guessing that it is about 1 1/2" long but it could be bigger than a Bread box.
