No more FEMA trailers

 Nope, not me.

It will be so good to get rid of the last of those FEMA trailers. They were very cheap and low in quality (they are the Gulfstream "Cavalier" model shown below), so the ones that are left are badly deteriorated and just add to the blight at this point. Plus a person would be nuts to live in one, now that it is known that they are full of formaldehyde.

I saw some just this week. It has been five years. For many, the problem is that even though they don't live in them, it is illegal for citizens to move them away since they belong to FEMA. In the past FEMA has said that they would prosecute if anyone moved one of these trailers off their property or tried to return one to FEMA. Apparently despite repeated requests by homeowners FEMA won't take them away either, though they did take some of them away a few years ago.

Maybe our new mayor is trying to persuade them to finish the job, or maybe he has plans to condemn these trailers or something.
