First frost on neighbor's roof

My lovely sugar maple hanging onto just a few leaves...compared to early summer.

Looks like you've got a few bald patches starting to form. Is this normal or the result of critters munching away at that lovely lawn?

Jay: you should see the "bald patches" on my modest backyard....

Or mine - - I never did anything to restore the grass after the big tree and stump were removed (weakened by H. Katrina, broken by H. Gustav). Grass has grown back over most, but not all, of the bare spot during the past year.

I do have 2 dogs, ya know. ;) Do the chemistry.
j/k. We had tons of rain this NOTsummer, so it is not from drought. dh2b faithfully does the lawn treatment, so it's not grubs. It greens up every May, so I don't sweat the details.

So, fall is here.

The summer knows, the summer's wise
She sees the doubts within your eyes
And so she takes her summer time
Tells the moon to wait and the sun to linger
Twists the world 'round her summer finger
Lets you see the wonder of her arms

And if you've learned your lessons well
There's little more for her to tell
One last caress, it's time to dress for fall

- Lyrics of "Summer of 42"

My poor excuse for a backyard garden:blush:. The white spots you see are pebbles I used to cover the patches. In time grass will grow over them.:)

The neighbor's tree. I get to enjoy it, they get to rake.;)
