one of the nicest parks near our house in the pocono mountains of pa is promised land state park.
got there nice and early just after sunrise today .labor day 2009 and took some pics of the boats laying by the edge of the water. the entire time the lighting went thru so many stages.

Very nice. We were camping in Promised Land earlier this summer and will definately return. Its a really pretty place.

Wow, outstanding! That camera really takes some fantastic photos, as well as, the photographer does a great job, too.

its not the cameras , what you are seeing is actually 2 different cameras, a nikon d80 and a nikon d300 . its all about the lighting, photography skills and being creative in post processing lightning dark areas and darkening light areas.

all cameras take pretty much the same image under good lighting.

That park reminds me very much of a state park near the Ohio River that we went when I was a boy. In particular, that stone work on the Snack Bar. I wonder if this and some of the other park amenities were CCC projects as were the buildings in my boyhood park. It is so much more charming than a typical postwar public project.

Ha

Good catch, ha. The neat, old stone buildings at Promised Land are indeed products of the CCC. The pavilions/shelters are still in use today.

Thanks Brewer. The design, the stone and timbers, and the workmanship all said CCC. :)

I camped at this park as a youngster with my family. Good memories.
