Solar Eclipse Oct. 23

In San Diego it starts at 2:15 and peaks at 3:30pm.

I guess it started here in Chicago

Unfortunately the clouds rolled in here about 30 minutes before the eclipse started.

Well, the clouds cleared for about 45 minutes just as the eclipse was entering its maximum sun blocked phase. So, using my trusty pin-hole card, I got to see about 40% of the sun blocked out. The sun lighted areas were a bid less bright than normal, IMHO>

I went to an overlook here, where someone had some welding shield glass, and a filter on high powered binocs on a nice tripod. Through the binocs was especially interesting as you could see sunspots as well as the partial eclipse.

We had clear skies in central South Carolina. I was deer hunting in my stand and enjoyed the extended twilight period long before dark.
