Evidently this scam is pretty common, but this is a first for us. Our latest phone bill from AT&T had a charge for $8.43 saying "Billed on behalf of MYBILLINGGUYS, LLC". After some time spent on the phone it looks like AT&T is going to remove the charge.
A Google searched produced plenty of hits on how this may have happpened, but we're not sure which it might be. The most common suggestions were that our phone number or IP address were picked up from the internet. The was also mention of spyware which we think unlikely.
Has anyone had any experience with this type of thing?
