Sorry guys I have worn myself out on searches. We had an alternative energy thread I think about a year ago and I think one of you referred to the hydro electric unit in your creek as a thumper (no relation to CFB) I think it was bronze in color and a dome shape.
Can anyone recall that thread?

Trek had the thread back 4 months or so ago on a unit he saw in Europe and i'm the guy who hearkened back to my teen years and called it a thump pump. It pumps about 10% of the water it is fed. They make 'em out of plastic now, but they are still very cool: The Ram Company, Home Page.
For electric you are looking at microhydro as a search term.
