2 stark reminders come to mind:
5 years or so ago, I had to pull out a map to find a detour around an accident at night, and couldn't make out any road names or numbers on the map. My first stop when I got home was to pick up some reading glasses.
Two or three years ago, running a trail race, I'm used to some aches and pains while running but on this race the pain spreads from my back and hips to my feet and everything in between, and as I'm shuffling along just trying to finish, I remember specifically thinking the words "When did I get this old?"
