Hi All,
We’re getting close to meeting with trust attorney in Florida so trying to better understand and manage the process.
In addition to determining whether a testamentary trust or revocable trust would be better, we are considering simply using an institution like Fidelity, Schwab, etc as trustee - less effort by beneficiaries, more professional approach to investing, ability to more easily spread income and assets over time and go grandchildren, etc.
I don’t think we will get to the Federal limits on estate tax when the last dies, so that is not a major factor.
Has anyone selected an independent trustee vice children, which one, and would you still do it after having worked with them for awhile?
