I want to express my gratitude to people for taking the time to share their knowledge and experience about Social Security benefits. My MIL is just about to reach FRA, and had been planning not to file until 70, so that her benefits could grow (she is still working and has a fear of outliving her assets). If it had not been for you, I never would have known about spousal benefits, and she would have missed out on the 40K that she is entitled to over the next four years. Last week, I helped my MIL file for her spousal benefits. Yay!
