I understand about assignment officers - some really nasty ones out there. After 3 years overseas, my next tour was unaccomanied in Korea. Time to pull the plug. Yep, if you retire and resign you lose an awful lot of COLAS.
My retirement orders listed my unit of assignment should I be activated, but that was just a placeholder. Obviously they would send me wherever I was needed.
Interesting about DECA. And all this time I thought they were just being nice to Reservists
. When I first went in, you could only use the commissary during your 2 weeks of AD. Then it was changed to allow any 12 days during the year plus your 2 weeks AD. And finally, it went to unlimited. Of course, now that it's unlimited, we rarely go
