Seriously, this is you? I heard this story last Saturday (big fan of Scott Simon) and thoroughly enjoyed it. Now that I 'know' one of the champs, it's even better!

I don't know about "topping' but this is what my former Camp Fire Girls leader and husband did with their early retirement. Actually, for many years, he would suspend his specialty dental practice and they would be NPS rangers during the summer (mostly remote Alaska). Then he finally closed his practice for good.
They are now completely retired and their friends urged him to write a book about their experiences.
