Time to move?

Get to fall, put life on hold for 7-8 months, wait for May. Enjoy life until October. Repeat.

Our climate in the upper midwest is perfect for working. 7 months of cold/crappy weather. Put your head down, focus on working as much as possible. Pop your head out when April or May arrives.

Houses should be more expensive here than they are. We get to spend a lot of time in them. High usage. :)

The govt. office I used to be employed at had a fiscal year end of March 31, and often there was budget surplus in Jan, Feb, and Mar to be used up. Overtime was common in those months and I worked as much of it as possible. I would then take unpaid leave in summer (as well as vacation). The great thing about it was that every hour of OT in winter "paid for" 1.5 hours of leave in the summer. :)
