Started Atkins. 231lbs this morning.

Started a low carb lifestyle change February 2011. 6'2" 257 lbs. As of yesterday weigh in at 232 lbs. Low carb is the "weigh" to go. I haven't done much exercise and eat as much as I want until I'm full. I do not look at calories or fat, just carbs. Amazing how this works. Had a physical about a month ago and all my blood work came in much better. Blood pressure down, cholesterol down, good cholesterol up, triglycerides down, glucose down...amazing. I have been eating an average 5 eggs everyday since February.

The only thing you have to give up is pasta, rice, bread, corn, potatoes and sugar. That's it. LOL. :)

Welcome to the thread :flowers:

Over the last 3 months you've already managed a 10% weight loss so it is obviously working for you. Keep up the good work, the hard part is about to begin.

I weigh the same as last week . No gain No loss . I did go shopping today and I am down a size . I tried on my usual size and I was swimming in them .

After a long, fattening hiatus, I'm once again working on losing weight, and will be posting my progress here.

6/1: 295
6/15: 284.6

I'm going the low-carb route, as I've had success with that in the past. About 8 years ago, I lost around 25 lbs in 2 months by removing starch and sugar from my diet. I fell off the wagon after my kids were born, and recently found myself heavier than I'd ever been at 295. Two weeks in, I've already dropped over 10 lbs, and feel better. I intend to continue this way of eating long-term.

6/1: 295
6/15: 284.6
6/22: 282.0

After the big initial drop (mostly water weight), I seem to be settling into a 2-3 lbs per week loss. I haven't been super-strict so far, so there's room to improve if I find my losses tapering off. So far, so good.

Thats a good job, are you just dieting or doing any exercise with it? Its always amazed me what one can accomplish with just diet and walking.

Thanks! No real exercise yet, just walking a bit more than I was previously. I won't make any general statements, but for me personally, exercise has much less effect on my weight than diet does. I trained for and ran a half-marathon some years back, and really didn't lose any weight to speak of during the process (and I had plenty to lose).

Exercise does, of course, play a big part in my overall fitness, just not weight loss. YMMV.

I think you're too tough on yourself.
2.5% over target is still within the error bars in my book.

Lower drop this week (though I was a pound lower a few days ago). I experimented with adding a few low-carb substitutes to my diet this week, and while the Dreamfield pasta didn't seem to cause any spike in my blood sugar, the low-carb tortillas definitely did.

Happy to still be moving in the right direction. :)

I've been running 3x weekly and sticking to WW and today have lost 6 pounds in 5 weeks. That included a 10 day trip to Greece. I guess it's not so bad!
