Simple girl, I'd LOVE to stabilize at your highest! Off to the treadmill...:(

Awh, thank you! It is a constant, and I mean CONSTANT challenge to keep it off. I think about calories at almost every meal and work out hard (I dance) 4x a week. I wish I were one of those people who were naturally thin, but nope, it's definitely work for me to get there and stay there.

I've been running 3x weekly and sticking to WW and today have lost 6 pounds in 5 weeks. That included a 10 day trip to Greece. I guess it's not so bad!

Sounds like you are doing fantastic!! Especially including travel - that is when I always gain weight. Keep the momentum goin'! :flowers:

6/29/2011: 125 (does it count that the scale flickered 124 for a second before settling on 125? LOL)

Highest was 139# (2007)
5'4" Target range 116 - 121#

Were you totally naked and not retaining fluid ? Clothes are very heavy and account for three pounds add in water retention and you are probably at 121 in reality !:)

LOL...hmmm...yeah, no clothes.

Wait for it....

Going out of town for few days so just hope to stay the same.

June was another good month for me, so I decided to drop my compromise goal of 170 and go for my real long term goal of 165, the weight I was back in college. I'm not following any particular diet plan, except for putting into practice the advice found in Gary Taubes' book.

With a vacation in Madeira of 7 nights where we ate like pigs in a trough I have no idea how we lost weight (DW lost 2lbs!!).

The food at the hotel was fantastic with a huge buffet at breakfast and dinner which we gave a good hammering. Two of our 4 bus tours included a 3 course lunch.

The only thing we gave up was TV and the internet

Amazing to lose weight under those terrible conditions, LOL! Congrats on that accomplishment! Sure does sound like you are enjoying your retirement - yay!

Going nowhere fast in terms of progress. Kinda hard to make progress with all the travel, picnics, and drinking this past weekend. Hopefully life will start getting back to normal, and I will have some progress to report next week.

How will you manage when you retire, and life becomes a permanent weekend with all the associated travel, picnics, and drinking that come with a weekend?

You're doing great. 3 weeks of no progress does not a failure make.

We walked to the gym this morning and I ran on the treadmill and lifted weights. I prefer the recently discovered "Madeira vacation" method of keeping the weight off.

LOL, that is one of my great fears about retiring! ;-) I WILL find a way to manage all that fun and the associated calories, though. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: What a dilemma!

Thank you for the encouragement! It's tough getting off track...glad the scale isn't going up further at least.

I'd follow your "Madeira vacation" method any day if it it worked for me!

Excellent progress, very well done indeed. :)

Thanks, but I'm more impressed with the year round consistency that you, Simple Girl, and others are maintaining. 2 or 3 lb difference throughout a year is incredible.

Up until I was 40 I never restrained my eating habits at all. Then I gave up my part time job as a soccer ref, and since injury had also stopped me from playing soccer and tennis I slowly gained weight until I realized it was effecting my health when I had high bp at a physical. I dropped 40lb over the following 12 months and it has been a continuous effort since then to keep it in check.

I weighed in today .I am the same weight as last week . I have three pounds to go until my next and probably final goal .

Changing my weigh-in day to Friday, since that's when I log it in the spreadsheet I've been maintaining:

6/1: 295
6/15: 284.6
6/22: 282.0
6/29: 280.4
7/8: 279.0

Not much of a drop again, but considering how much beer I drank over the long weekend, I'll take it.

Haven't reached that point yet where I'm motivated enough to restrict the diet more. It's coming though...I feel it!

Not bad considering we had some friends down from Scotland over the weekend and I drank lots of beer in the evenings at the pubs, but we got in a couple of good hikes during the days.

Today we were out all day and got in a 4 hour hike but then sat outside and ate some fantastic haddock and chips (fries) before catching the bus home.
