How was it? just trying to think of something different for a quick 4 or 5 day trip. Maybe drive to N.O. ?

We were there in July to visit kids and grandkids while son-in-law was temporarily stationed there for training. It was blazing hot with heat index of 105 F. + nearly every day so we hung out in AC environments most of the time. We did take in a great naval museum, USS Alabama in Mobile. We did a little sightseeing from the comfort of the rental van and checked out a few of the casinos.

Beaches are uncrowded. You can get a condo for a steal this time of year. NOLA is a 2-hour drive. Pensacola might be a better destination than Biloxi, though.
