Our sortie into self-employment has yielded a wonderful benefit that we had not considered.

My wife has worked the past 12 years at a non-profit where here only option for pretax savings is a 403(b) with Mutual of America. They currently are charging us 0.9% to take her money and put it in index funds (this was 1.0% for the first 9 years). To add insult to injury, the only index funds are the MoA index funds which charge 0.17% (I guess this is actually not that bad, but it is almost twice Spartan for the exact same thing). Regardless, this gives an expense ratio of 1.07% for the SP500 index fund and and the SP400 Midcap Index.

Anyway, they have $210,000 of our money hostage. This money will be in the warn hands of Vanguard in the next month. YAHOOOO!
