So it's true, I guess,
that time flys in retirement - so far. It's been one month to the day since my last shift at the firehouse and I'm just now slowing down. I thought I would read the posts and maybe contribute my 2 cents here and there, but noooo, been having too much fun traveling. Crossed the continental divide 6 times last week alone. It's been a bit of a roller coaster of emotions, and I'm a bit of a stoic guy. All normal I suppose. Support from friends and family has been great! Maybe the emotions are because I didn't leave under much duress. It was a great ride, but for me it was time to move on. For those of you who did retire under duress, I'm sorry for what you have gone through, but am happy that you came through to the other side. For those who have a ways to go, I would venture to say you're gonna love it when it's your turn! Now I can legitimately post on the Life after FIRE forum, hee hee. Thoughts or tips are appreciated...

I can relate. We retired in February and I wonder when we ever had time to work. WE too have a small RV and enjoy taking it out. Enjoy your new freedom and I hope you have many fun adventures with your toy hauler!

Thank you for the kind replies! So far, it's only been fishing gear in the toy hauler, but in the future, it will be Jenny, the Harley, Katy the kayak, and Chrissy, my bass guitar and her sidekick Amber the amp till I think of something else to stuff in the yet unnamed rv, though I'm thinking her name will be Priscilla!

Toyhaulers are fun. I don't have one. My toys must go in the enclosed trailer behind my Class A. I'm about 6 months from ER. I can't wait.
