Has anyone ever heard of this or done it? I've read the article but can't seem to comprehend all the reasons one might do it. It's come up in my family related to my parents house and helping them qualify for Medicare benefits related to nursing home care.

I feel really stupid on this topic. Thanks for your help.

In my state it is called a Life Estate Deed. I know people who have it set up.
It avoids Medicaid estate recovery getting a claim on the property.
