NFL: 2017 Season

Lions start the season with another 4th quarter comeback for the win against Arizona. Set the record last year with 8 fourth quarter comebacks. No sense making things easy.

The Texan's game got so tough to watch, we turned on the Hurricane updates at half time. 10 sacks? That's twice per game what David Carr was experiencing in 2002.:(

The Bears don't look as bad as I thought they would. They would have beaten Atlanta if they didn't drop 2 passes in the end zone on the last drive.

:nonono: I was embarrassed for them. That was awful.

Well at least the Patroits lost on Thursday and the Cowboys won on Sunday.

It was very disappointing to see all the NYG players not putting their hand over their hearts for the National Anthem.:nonono:

At least I didn't notice anyone sitting or kneeling, but glad the Cowboys got a resounding win.

I was sort of joking about this being the year of the Rams, but they looked pretty good against a decent but damaged team. Their D can probably carry them while the offence finds it's way.

I'm sure a lot of non-Texan fans were doing the same as many of us would love to see NE lose.

I heard the refs jobbed us. Don't have it on TV here so I didn't see the ending.

The GOAT did it again......

Houston's rookie QB Watson is going to be an excellent QB but not against Brady....

Go Pats.

A number of posts were about recent politics. All were deleted. This is a thread about sports. We all know how even a few political posts ruin the conversation for the rest of us, so please keep politics out of this thread (and the rest of E-R forum). :)

HOU vs. NE!
I'm not sure who they were, but there was a bunch of great players wearing Texans uniforms against the Patriots on Sunday. That was a great game, until the last few minutes. A couple of bad calls (again) that could have changed the outcome. Still a great game.

(What a finish!) HOU vs. NE!

How about the DET/ATL game? I'd never even heard of the 10 second Runoff rule. Talk about being robbed.

Of course, my opinion couldn't be colored by having Matthew Stafford as my fantasy QB this weekend.

The Texans are heading in the right direction in my opinion. The defense has been good with Watt and Clowney but now the offense seems to have improved with the rookie QB.

Yes, Watson looked really good yesterday. I'm hoping that he keeps it up rather than go the RG3 (and others) route to nothingness of having a good rookie season but that's it.

I've seen the 10 second runoff lots of times. That was a first time I can recall seeing it result in no time left in the game though.

BTW. What was O'Brien thinking when he kicked a field goal with 2 minutes left in the game instead of going for it on 4th and one. He of all people coached Brady for 5 years. He should know better than to give Brady the ball down one score with 2 minutes left.....

As I said before the pressure of beating NE clouds coaches' judgment to the point where let 10 seconds tick off the clock before they call their last timeout at the end of the game which could have giving them one more play to get in a field goal range.

I can't thank him enough for that decision ..... That would have eliminated half of our fantasy football Eliminator league including myself. Sorry

Not a NE fan but we were cheering for the Patriots . We are Browns fans so every time the Texans lose our first and second round draft picks from the Texans get better.

At this point we could have the first two picks in the first and second rounds .

As a PATS fan I liked that decision as well but I was surprised.
