I'm late chiming in on this one. I had a sore elbow a few years ago from doing some kind of work, I forget what. The pain lasted for at least a month. A physical therapist called it "tennis elbow" and said she could work with me to make it better, but I had to go to my primary care doctor for a referral so the insurance would pay (gotta love the HMO's). So I went to my primary care doc, and she said before she would give me a referral, she wanted to try a less expensive treatment first, and prescribed an anti-inflammatory. I was ticked, and knew she was just blowing me off. So I took the pills as prescribed, just to prove that I needed therapy. Lo and behold, after about a week with the anti-inflammatory, the pain went away and never did come back.
