    5 weeks Australia/New Zealand

Thanks so much for the article, and the trip report. We would not stay long in tourist areas, just not shoppers, and dislike crowds. Also planning to go off season which we always do.

Is $12,000 per year in travel enough

I think it depends on how long you want to be gone, and what you like to do. We budget 25K, but some of that (5K) is for a family vacation with all the kids/grands that we pay for 100%. The rest is for us - we like to be gone maybe 5 months or so in blocks. Sometimes we camp in our pop up...

    5 weeks Australia/New Zealand

OK thanks. We decided to add a week, so 3 and 3. I found a pretty good itinerary on line for 3 weeks in Australia. We will adapt it to our interests. We are on an 2 month road trip, but will start nailing all of this down when we get back.

East Coast trip in mid April, questions

Ellis Island is better for a real visit. You can get close to the statue of liberty, but there is not as much there to see/tour. Agree trains are good, easy, have wifi, etc. Freedom Trail in Boston is a must see.

    Ever Been to China?

I went for work a few times with days off to tour. We used a private tour guide recommended by the hotel. Spoke English, reasonably priced. I think $60 for the day?

My husband called them this morning - they said if we go to a Cigna affiliated Urgent Care they will take the insurance. the ones where we are staying are packed though - 6 hour wait times. So he headed to another one out of network. They told us all we have to do is mail in the receipts and...

Yes, Tufts HMO. We did not think that would preclude us from seeing an Urgent Care and paying cash. But the two urgent cares in our area only took insurance, no cash. Basically we consider the insurance to be catastrophic only.

Have to say we were really impressed with the CVS Minute Clinic we used.
