    Anyone have glaucoma?

Yes, but I use the off-brand version. Eye doctor recommended I take them for general eye health, not necessarily for glaucoma, but rather for healthier retinas.

    Trash Removal

Two bins are provided free. No charge to have the recyclables picked up. Instead of a $45 quarterly charge for trash you can choose a $5 per bag rate. Instead of using the bags, however, I transport my small amount of trash and deposit it in Mom's container (as do my two brothers). Thereby...

    Golf Talk Tuesdays 2015-2020

Golf rule question: Ball tee'd up and your drive goes into the pond; there is no drop zone so you hit from the tee area again at which point your are hitting your third stroke. Are you permitted to use a tee on the second attempt to get over the pond or must you play the ball off the ground?

    Do you use your dishwasher?

Don't have one. I rinse my cereal bowl out every morning using the spigot. It gets a proper wash when I do any accumulation of glasses -- which is about every two weeks or when I've run out of spoons. Generally I rarely have no other dishes to wash.

+1 Other than the above, I can't think of anything. I did start listening to audio books once I retired, but that had nothing to do with retiring. I've always been a reader..

    Cataracts

I agree it seems high. I'm having laser with astigmatism correction and it will run $1850 per eye, beyond that which insurance covers. I am surprised that any surgeon these days would use anything but laser. Premium IOLs such as multifocal and toric do cost more and insurance does not cover...

    Cataracts

I'm 60 and am having my first eye done next Thursday. Six months ago in October my eye doctor asked if I wanted the surgery done because I evidently missed more letters on the eye chart than I had in the past. I said the cataracts didn't bother me. So he dropped it. Now six months later...

Help parents and put own retirement at risk?

Dad was in assisted living. He died before the money ran out. However, if he had outlived his money, the arrangement with the assisted living home was that he could continue to live there provided all social security and any pension payments went to the home (less $600 annually). Yes, in...

Poll: Did you learn to sleep in after retiring?

I stay up 3+ hours later in the evening than when I worked. Consequently I get up much later; plus tack on an hour for 'sleeping in'. This equates to getting out of bed around around 10:00-11:00 a.m. (sometimes later). This is true except two days every week in the summer when I get up...

What new series are you watching? *No Spoilers, Please*

I'm surprise no one mentioned Mindhunters on Netflix. I binge watched the first season I liked it so much. It's about how the FBI began using profiling to solve murders. Agree that Altered Carbon looks like it will be good.
