    Prime Day disappointment

I didn't see much except for a dining room set I was looking at elsewhere. Normal price over $500. Amazon had it for $367 and if you got the Amazon credit card, it was another $200 off. So I got a nice mid century design set for $167 with free shipping. Very happy with the deal, but other than...

    Another Medigap Question

Yes, for me I choose by past history of rate increases and the type of increase. Since yours are all community pricing, the only other difference would be any extra benefits they offer. I went with UHC/AARP because of the free gym membership.

Should I consider purchasing the family vacation cabin?

I'd pass on it. Too many issues and it sounds like it needs money put into it and you don't have the time to really go and enjoy it, let alone take care of it. Rent a place a couple weeks a year some place where you really want to go but don't have any responsibilities to.

Better To Book Hotels Directly or A Booking Site?

I use Agoda to find hotels I am interested in, and then I will either book with the hotel directly or use a website, depending on which is cheaper. I only book with a free cancellation option. I usually find better deals by booking online.

    Basic Medicare Questions...

I used Boomer Benefits when I signed up and found them very helpful. They have videos on youtube with good information. If you delay signing up for Part D you will have penalty for the rest of your life (unless you go with an Advantage plan where you may not need it). If you don't get a...

    High calcium score and angiogram

I never had a calcium scan, but I used to have high calcium levels in my blood due to hyperparathyroidism. It can lead to depositing of calcium into the heart and other places in your body you don't want it. Have you been checked for it?

T-Mobile: Auto-Pay Discount For Bill Payment by Credit Card Ending

This is interesting. I just signed up with Tmobile today. Signed up to pay with a credit card for the $5 a month discount. Guy did not mention to me that it was going away in a couple of months. I might have to go back tomorrow and discuss it with him.

Any other long-term CA residents reconsidering their “forever home”?

Unfortunately Oregon is becoming less and less attractive to live in....the whole state is going downhill, although Portland is the worst. I've had quite a few friends move away and several more that are working on it. For the first time in my life I am seriously considering moving too. I hate...

Signing up for Medicare is a Frustrating and Expensive Process!?

I also used Boomer Benefits and sign up was a breeze. As far as billing, I have never had any problems at all. They are paid and I can look at the EOBs online.

    Getting out of Advantage plan?

My BIL just went through this. Moved to a state where his advantage plan was to a state it is not offered. He used Boomer Benefits and said it was a great experience.

    Broker For Medicare?

I used Boomer Benefits and referred my BIL to them. Both of us have been very happy with them. BB spend time discussing what we needed and wanted and presented several options. Told us the premium increase history of those they recommended. They do not represent every company however, so maybe...

    UHC/AARP vs UHC Medigap

It will be listed but sometimes they are a little slow. It should be under My Plans. I would check back in a week or two or call them. Mine didn't show up for awhile. After Medicare pays it's portion of the claim they forward the claim onto the supplement plan so it can pay it's portion.

    UHC/AARP vs UHC Medigap

I was eligible for Plan F but opted for Plan G. The only difference is that F pays the Part B deductible ($233). Other than that they are the same. The premium for F was much more than that $233 so I opted for G. I am happy with it and agree I would not go back to any less and definitely not an...

Hosp doc's billing practice-Something is not right

I had the option of Plan F but went with G. The premiums for F were higher than G and were more than the $233 Medicare deductible. Once I pay the deductible I never pay another dime.

    Selling rental units

I sold both of my rental condos in January. They made me a decent return but the state and local governments kept passing more and more land lord oppressive laws so I decided to bail and sell them. Plus I managed them myself and wanted to free up my time to travel. Turned out to be a great...

    Sleep apnea and mouth guards

I use several type of masks, one similar to the above link which sits below the nose, one that covers the nose only, and a full face mask that sits below the nose but covers both the mouth and the nose. My favorite is the nose one, but it leaves a red mark on the bridge of the nose so after a...

    Sleep apnea and mouth guards

I've known people who thought they had sleep apnea but a sleep test showed otherwise, so no machine for them. Most people are not referred for a sleep test unless there is a good indication they have apnea. So it makes sense that most people who have one end up diagnosed with sleep apnea.
